Knewstubb Lake is a part of the huge Ootsa Lake Reservoir in British Columbia, Canada. It's located in an area called the Nechako Country. Knewstubb Lake is like a long arm of this big reservoir.

This reservoir also includes other stretches of water. These include Eutsuk Lake and Natalkuz Lake, which are further southwest. The Ootsa Lake Reservoir was created when the Nechako River was dammed. Most of the river's water now flows through tunnels. These tunnels go under the Coast Mountains to the west. The water then reaches the Kemano Powerhouse. This powerhouse creates electricity for the aluminum smelter in Kitimat. Kitimat is located southeast of Terrace.

Who Was Knewstubb?

Knewstubb Lake is named after F.W. Knewstubb. He worked for the British Columbia government's Water Rights Branch. In the 1920s, Mr. Knewstubb led teams that explored different parts of the Coast Mountains. Their goal was to find places where power could be generated.

Another place named after F.W. Knewstubb is Mount Knewstubb. This mountain is located south of Franklyn Arm. Franklyn Arm is a part of Chilko Lake.
