Koby Altman was born on September 16, 1982. He is an American basketball executive. He currently works as the President of Basketball Operations for the Cleveland Cavaliers. This team is part of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Koby Altman's Early Life and Education
Koby Altman grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He went to Middlebury College and earned his bachelor's degree. While there, he was a starting point guard for the college's basketball team for three years.
After college, Altman worked in real estate for three years. Later, he went to the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass). He earned a master's degree in sports management from UMass. During this time, he also worked as an assistant coach at Amherst College. After finishing his master's, Altman continued coaching college basketball. He was an assistant coach at Southern Illinois from 2009 to 2010. Then, he became a full-time assistant coach at Columbia.
Koby Altman's NBA Career
Koby Altman joined the Cleveland Cavaliers team office in 2012. He slowly moved up in his career there. He was part of the team that won the NBA Championship in 2016. At that time, he was the director of pro personnel. For the 2016–17 season, he became the assistant general manager. On July 24, 2017, he was promoted to General Manager (GM).

One of his first major moves was a trade with the Boston Celtics. The Cavaliers traded star player Kyrie Irving. In return, they received several players and draft picks. In September 2017, Altman signed Dwyane Wade. Wade was a three-time NBA Champion and a multi-time All-Star guard.
