Korey Jones, born on April 4, 1989, is a former professional football player. He used to play as a linebacker in both the National Football League (NFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL). After his playing career, he became an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Denver Broncos in the NFL.

Korey went to Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, Colorado. He then played college football at Garden City Community College and the University of Wyoming. During his professional career, he played for several teams, including the Arizona Cardinals, BC Lions, Green Bay Packers, Florida Blacktips, Edmonton Eskimos, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He won the Grey Cup championship twice.

College Football Career

Korey Jones started his college football journey at Garden City Community College. He played for the Garden City Broncbusters from 2009 to 2010. During his time there, he made 108 tackles and had four sacks. He also recovered one fumble. In 2010, he was recognized for his skills, earning an Honorable Mention All-Conference award.

After Garden City, Korey moved to the University of Wyoming. He played for the Wyoming Cowboys for two years, from 2011 to 2012. He was a starter for the team. In 25 games, he recorded a total of 162 tackles and four sacks. In 2011, he started the season playing as a defensive end for five games. He then switched to playing as a linebacker for the rest of that season. In his senior year, 2012, Korey was chosen as a team captain, showing his leadership skills.

Professional Playing Career

Korey Jones began his professional football career in 2013. Even though he wasn't chosen in the 2013 NFL draft, the Arizona Cardinals signed him on April 29, 2013. However, he was released by the team a few months later, on August 25, 2013.

In September 2013, Korey joined the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played with them for a while before being released on June 21, 2014.

Later in 2014, Korey signed with the Green Bay Packers on July 24. He was with the team for about a month before being released on August 24, 2014. That same year, he also played for the Florida Blacktips in the Fall Experimental Football League.

On April 30, 2015, Korey signed with the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL. This was a successful year for him. He played in all 18 regular season games. He made 25 defensive tackles and 13 special teams tackles. Most importantly, he helped his team win the Grey Cup championship that season. He was released by the Eskimos on May 29, 2016.

Korey then joined the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the CFL on June 16, 2016. He played in 13 games during the 2016 season. He contributed with 18 defensive tackles, 11 special teams tackles, and forced one fumble.

On April 15, 2017, Korey signed with the Edmonton Eskimos again, returning to the team he played for in 2015. He stayed with them until he was released on June 24, 2019.

On July 16, 2019, Korey signed a practice roster contract with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the CFL. He was moved to the active roster on August 7, 2019. He won his second Grey Cup with the Blue Bombers in 2019.

Korey re-signed with the Eskimos on February 11, 2020. However, he announced his retirement from playing football on March 9, 2020.

Coaching Career

After retiring as a player, Korey Jones started a new chapter in his football career. In March 2020, he joined the Denver Broncos of the NFL. He became an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the team. In this role, he helps players get stronger and fitter.
