Kyra Gracie Guimarães (born on May 29, 1985) is a famous Brazilian submission grappler and a highly skilled Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) practitioner. She holds a 4th-degree black belt in BJJ. Kyra is part of the famous Gracie family, who are known for creating Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. She has won many awards, including four World Jiu-Jitsu titles and three ADCC Submission Fighting World titles.

About Kyra Gracie
Kyra Gracie is a very special member of the Gracie family. She is one of only two women in her family to earn a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. She was also the first woman from the Gracie family to compete actively in the sport.
For several years, Kyra lived in the United States. There, she trained at the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York and the Gracie Barra Academy in Lake Forest, California.
Kyra's Amazing Wins
Kyra has won many important competitions. She won the women's under 60 kg title at the ADCC championships in 2005, 2007, and 2011. She also took first place at the IBJJF World Championships in 2006, 2008 (winning both lightweight and absolute divisions), and 2010.
Kyra has also trained at the Gracie Barra Academy and Evolve/Gordo Jiu Jitsu Academy in Rio de Janeiro. She even competed in a TV show called Kunoichi, which is like the female version of Ninja Warrior. Besides BJJ, she also trains in judo and wrestling.
Training and Teaching
In 2010, Kyra started competing for the Gracie Elite Team. This team is made up of top BJJ competitors from different Gracie academies. To improve her fighting skills, Kyra also trained in boxing in Rio de Janeiro.
Kyra and other family members, like Rillion and Roger, started the Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Adventure Camp in 2010. This camp lets people learn BJJ while also enjoying local tourism in different countries.
In 2023, Kyra Gracie made history again. She became the first woman in the Gracie family to promote another family member to a black belt. This person was her cousin, Rayron Gracie.
Kyra's Family Life
Kyra Gracie comes from a very famous family. Her grandfather, Robson Gracie, was the second son of Carlos Gracie Sr., who founded Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Kyra has four younger half-siblings. Her mother, Flavia Gracie, and her uncles Charles Gracie, Ralph Gracie, Renzo Gracie, and Ryan Gracie (who has passed away) all practice BJJ.
Kyra has two daughters with the Brazilian actor Malvino Salvador.
Kyra's Top Achievements
Kyra Gracie has achieved incredible success in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and grappling. Here are some of her main wins at the black belt level:
- World Championship: She won this four times (2006, 2008, 2010). In 2008, she won both her weight class and the Absolute division.
- Pan-American Championship: She was champion twice (2005, 2007).
- Brazilian Nationals: She won this three times (2005, 2008). In 2008, she also won the Absolute division.

Kyra also won many titles when she was a colored belt (before black belt):
- Pan-American Championship: Three times (2001, 2002 as a blue belt; 2003 as a purple belt).
- Brazilian Nationals: Four times (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001).
