La Grange is a city in Lewis County, Missouri, United States. In 2020, the population was 825 people. Since the 1960s, the number of people living in La Grange has slowly gotten smaller. It is part of the Quincy, IL–MO Micropolitan Statistical Area.

A Look Back in Time
La Grange was founded in 1830. A post office, where people send and receive mail, has been open in La Grange since 1833.
In 1885, a big court case called Cole v. La Grange happened. The Supreme Court decided that the city could only use its power to take private land for public uses. This means they couldn't take land just to help a private company like the La Grange Iron and Steel Company.
In 1858, a school called the LaGrange Male and Female Seminary opened. It later became LaGrange College, offering a two-year college program. In 1928, the college moved to Hannibal and is now known as Hannibal–LaGrange University.
In 2001, the Mark Twain Casino opened. It is located on a riverboat that stays in one place.
Several historic buildings in La Grange are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These include the First Presbyterian Church, the William Gray House, and the Dr. J.A. Hay House. Other listed homes are the Joseph Hipkins House, the John McKoon House, the Fred Rhoda House, and the A.C. Waltman House.

According to the census from 2010, there were 931 people living in La Grange. These people lived in 403 different homes, and 257 of these were families. The city had about 596.8 people per square mile. There were 461 housing units, which are places where people can live.
Most of the people in La Grange were White (86.6%). About 9.7% were African American. A small number were Native American (0.3%) or Asian (0.1%). About 3.1% of the population identified as being of two or more races. Less than 1% (0.9%) of the population was Hispanic or Latino.
