Lake Lillian is a small city in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, United States. It is known as "A Friendly Town." In 2020, the city had a population of 246 people. It is named after the nearby Lake Lillian.

A Look Back: Lake Lillian's History
Lake Lillian started as a town in February 1923. This happened when railroad tracks were built for the Luce Line Railroad. The town got its name from the nearby Lake Lillian. This lake was named after Lillian Whitefield. She was the wife of Edwin Whitefield, who explored the area in 1856.
The town officially became a city on February 25, 1926. An interesting fact is that the first school in Lake Lillian was built even earlier, in 1913. In 1926, there were reports that oil had been found within the city limits.
During World War II, a special factory was built near Lake Lillian. This factory processed hemp to help with the war effort. Later, in 1955, a new school was built for the community.

Lake Lillian is located in Minnesota. The city covers a total area of about 1.17 square kilometers (0.45 square miles). All of this area is land.
Minnesota State Highway 7 is an important road that goes through the community. It helps people travel in and out of the city.
Just north of the city is the large Lake Lillian. This lake is quite big, covering about 1,149 acres.
