Lakeside MRT station (EW26) is a train station in Singapore. It is part of the MRT system. This station is on the East West Line. It is an elevated station, meaning it is built above the ground.

The station is located in Jurong West. It is on the northwestern side of the Jurong Lake. This is why it is called Lakeside. The station helps people living in Taman Jurong and Hong Kah travel easily. It is one of three stations that serve Jurong West New Town. The other two are Boon Lay and Pioneer MRT station.

Station Design

The Lakeside station has a special design. Its roof is curved, like a traditional Chinese roof. This design is similar to the buildings at the nearby Chinese Garden.

Station History

Lakeside MRT station opened on November 5, 1988. For a while, it was the last stop on the western part of the East West Line.

Like other above-ground stations on the East West Line, Lakeside station has platform screen doors. These doors help keep passengers safe. They also help control the temperature on the platforms. The station did not have these doors when it first opened. After successful tests at other stations, installation began in June 2010. The doors started working on August 31, 2020. This was at the same time as the doors at Bukit Batok station.

Large fans were also installed at the station. These fans are called high-volume low-speed fans. They help to keep the station cool and airy. They started working on November 30, 2012. Sound barriers were also put up near the station. These barriers reduce noise for people living near Corporation Road.
