Castle Park
Castle Park is a private community within the township. It has about 100 small homes and summer houses right along the beautiful Lake Michigan. This community was once a large estate owned by Michael Schwarz. His amazing brick house, built in 1890, looked like a castle with turrets! Today, this old castle-style house is used as the community center for everyone living there. Castle Park even had its own post office from 1903 until 1953.
Macatawa
Macatawa is another small community located near Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa. Long ago, it was a popular spot for resorts that welcomed visitors, especially from Chicago. Sadly, most of these old resorts were destroyed by fires. Now, Macatawa is mostly filled with cozy cottages. It sits right on the border between Laketown Township in Allegan County and Park Township in Ottawa County. Macatawa has a special "PO Box only" post office with the ZIP code 49434.
