They started a campaign called "Amor Es Presente" (Love Is Present). They collected toys and gave them to over twelve thousand children for Christmas.

Social Activism

Lali Espósito is part of a group of Argentine actresses and singers who support feminist causes. This group includes Jimena Barón, Griselda Siciliani, and Carla Peterson.

Political Impact

In the late 2010s, Lali became a strong supporter of social, women's, and LGBT rights. She used her fame to encourage people to get involved in politics. She helped with campaigns for the Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy Bill and the Transgender Employment Quota Bill in Argentina. Lali's political influence grew even more after the 2023 Argentine primary elections.

After the primary elections in August 2023, Lali tweeted, "Qué peligroso. Qué triste" (English: "How dangerous. How sad"). This tweet got a lot of support from people who disagreed with the election results. But it also caused a lot of negative reactions and criticism from others. Lali's words became a symbol for both sides of the political discussion. She later explained:

"I'm not bothered at all by being insulted for considering it dangerous and sad that there are people who vote for an anti-rights stance. The violence with which they insult and the arguments reflect exactly what they are voting for. We've become accustomed to thinking that if someone has an opinion, it's because they're on 'the other side,' but the only side I'll 'always' be on (within the current political and economic decadent context we're in) is the one that doesn't disregard the rights we've gained. That is what I think as a responsible young Argentine voter who doesn't only think about themselves. I could choose not to express any opinion, of course, it's the most 'comfortable' option, but I'm not like that, so... yes! For me, it's truly sad and dangerous to vote for such an anti-rights stance."

Lucía Peker from Infobae noted that Lali's concern showed the fear many women had about political changes that might affect their rights.

After the 2023 general election, Lali continued to face criticism. False information about her concert payments was spread. Many other artists also performed for the state but were not criticized. Lali faced online harassment and even had her personal information shared publicly.

Lali said the criticism was like "foam" used to hide bigger issues. Many people thought this meant the government was trying to distract from other laws. The criticism continued for months. In February 2024, Lali performed at the Cosquín Rock festival. During her song "Quiénes Son?", she changed the lyrics to "Que si vivo del Estado" (English: "That I live off the State"). This was a direct response to the criticism.

Many people from Argentina's music, TV, and film industries supported Lali. They spoke up for her right to free expression. Lali wrote an open letter explaining her career since she was 10. She highlighted her success and pride in her achievements. She asked for freedom to think differently and invited the president to her concerts.

Her situation was compared to other artists who faced political criticism in other countries. The governor of Buenos Aires Province, Axel Kicillof, said it was important to support culture and artists. This was called "the Lali effect."

Personal Life

Lali's nickname and stage name, Lali, came from her older brother. He mispronounced the short form of her name "Mari" as "Lali." She went to school at Colegio San Vicente De Paul in Parque Patricios.

Relationships

From 2006 to 2010, Lali dated her co-star Peter Lanzani from Chiquititas and Casi Ángeles. She called him her "first love." They remained good friends after they broke up.

In 2010, Lali started dating singer and actor Benjamín Amadeo. They met on Casi Ángeles. They broke up in 2015 but remained close friends.

From late 2015 to early 2016, Lali had a public relationship with her Esperanza Mía co-star Mariano Martinez. In 2017, Lali started dating sound engineer Santiago Mocorrea. They broke up in 2020. Since 2024, she has been in a relationship with media personality Pedro Rosemblat.
