Lamona is a small, quiet place in Washington State. It is not a city or town with its own government. Instead, it is called an unincorporated community.
Lamona is found in the southern part of Lincoln County. It sits between two other communities: Odessa and Harrington. You can find Lamona right along State Route 28. This community is quite high up, about 1,797 feet (548 m) above sea level.
History of Lamona
Lamona got its name from a person! It was named after J.H. Lamona. He was the very first merchant, or shopkeeper, in the area. This happened sometime between 1892 and 1893.
