How Lamont County Started
In March 1944, three smaller districts named Pines, Wostok, and Leslie joined together. They formed a new area called the Municipal District of Lamont No. 516. The main office was set up in the town of Lamont. Later, this district was renamed the Municipal District of Lamont No. 82.
Becoming a County
In January 1968, another big change happened. The Municipal District of Lamont No. 82 joined with the Lamont School Division No. 18. This created what is now known as the County of Lamont No. 30. This change helped manage both local government and schools in one system.
