Lana Ogilvie is a famous Canadian fashion model. She made history by becoming the first model of color to sign a contract with the CoverGirl cosmetics brand. She often worked alongside fellow model Rachel Hunter. You might also recognize her from the 1994 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue or as a host on the TV show Soul Train.

Her Journey to Modeling
Lana was "discovered" when she was a teenager. This happened at her high school fashion show in her hometown of Toronto, Canada. Soon after, she moved to New York City. There, she joined the well-known Ford Models agency. She even lived at the home of Eileen Ford, who founded the agency. Other famous models like Christy Turlington and Naomi Campbell also lived there.
Walking the Runway
Lana traveled the world as a highly sought-after runway model. She worked in big fashion cities like Paris, Milan, and London. She modeled for many top designers. These included Azzedine Alaïa, Gianfranco Ferré, Prada, Missoni, Sonia Rykiel, Karl Lagerfeld, and Issey Miyake. Her face also became well-known in magazines globally.
