Laurieann Gibson (born July 14, 1969) is a famous Canadian choreographer, director, and television star. A choreographer is someone who creates and arranges dance routines. She is known for creating amazing dance numbers for some of the world's biggest music stars, including Michael Jackson, Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, and Beyoncé.

Besides choreographing, Gibson has also directed popular music videos like "Judas" and "You and I" for Lady Gaga. She became well-known to TV audiences in 2005 on the MTV reality show Making the Band. She has also been a judge on dance and talent shows like So You Think You Can Dance and Skating with the Stars.

Early Life and Career Path

Laurieann Gibson was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She began her journey by training at the prestigious Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York City. Early in her career, she was a "Fly Girl" dancer on the popular 1990s comedy show In Living Color.

After her training, she moved from theater dance to the world of hip hop. She became the director of choreography for major music labels like Motown Records and Bad Boy Records. This role allowed her to work with superstars like Michael Jackson and Beyoncé.

Gibson also worked in movies. She created the dances for the film Honey, where she also acted as the dance rival to Jessica Alba's character.
