Le'Ron De'Mar McClain, born on December 27, 1984, is a former American football player. He was a powerful fullback in the National Football League (NFL). McClain played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Baltimore Ravens picked him in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL draft.

Early Life and College Football

Le'Ron McClain was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He grew up playing high school football for the Wildcats team. He attended Tuscaloosa County High School in Northport, Alabama.

After high school, he earned a scholarship to the University of Alabama. He played for the Alabama Crimson Tide football team from 2003 to 2006. His coach there was Mike Shula.

Le'Ron McClain's NFL Career

Le'Ron McClain was seen as one of the best fullbacks available in the 2007 NFL draft. He was compared to famous fullback William Henderson.

Playing for the Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens chose McClain as the 137th pick in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL draft. He officially joined the Ravens on July 27, 2007.

McClain scored his first ever touchdown on November 25, 2007. It was from a pass thrown by Kyle Boller against the San Diego Chargers. In his first year, he had 18 rushing yards and 55 receiving yards. He also scored one touchdown.

The 2008 season was a big year for McClain. He became the Ravens' main running back. He rushed for 902 yards and scored 10 touchdowns. He also caught 19 passes for 123 yards and another touchdown.

On December 20, 2008, McClain made history in Texas Stadium. He ran for an 82-yard touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys. This run, combined with teammate Willis McGahee's 77-yard touchdown, was special. They were the first players to have two 70+ yard touchdown runs on back-to-back plays. McClain's 82-yard run was also the longest by an opponent in Texas Stadium.

Because of his great performance, McClain was chosen for the Pro Bowl. In that game, he scored a touchdown from a tricky play called a Fumblerooski. The quarterback, Jay Cutler, handed the ball between McClain's legs, and he ran it in for the score.

In his last two years with the Ravens, McClain shared playing time with other running backs. He wanted more chances to carry the ball. This led to him leaving the Ravens team.

Time with the Kansas City Chiefs

On August 3, 2011, McClain signed a one-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. This happened after the Ravens signed another fullback, Vonta Leach.

With the San Diego Chargers

McClain then signed a three-year deal with the San Diego Chargers on March 14, 2012. He played for the Chargers for two seasons.

The Chargers released McClain on March 3, 2014. This marked the end of his professional football career.

Personal Life

Le'Ron McClain has a cousin named Rolando McClain. Rolando was also a football player. He played as a linebacker, most recently for the Dallas Cowboys.
