Lee County is a county located in the state of South Carolina, USA. It's known for its friendly communities and rich history. As of the 2020 census, about 16,531 people lived here. This makes it one of the less populated counties in South Carolina. The main town and county seat is Bishopville.

History of Lee County
Lee County is named after Robert E. Lee, a famous general from the Confederate side during the American Civil War. The county was officially formed on February 25, 1902. It was created from parts of three nearby counties: Darlington, Kershaw, and Sumter.

Lee County covers about 411 square miles. Most of this area is land, with a small part being water.
