Legend Quest (known in Latin America as Las Leyendas) is an exciting Mexican animated TV show. It mixes fantasy, comedy-horror, and adventure. The show was made for Netflix by Ánima Estudios.
It's based on characters created by Ricardo Arnaiz. The series is part of the Leyendas animated world. This was the first original animated series from Latin America for Netflix. It first aired on Netflix around the world on February 24, 2017. A second season, called Legend Quest: Masters of Myth, came out on October 5, 2019.

Story of Legend Quest
The show follows a brave teenager named Leo San Juan. His Mexican village is attacked by strange creatures. Leo has a special gift: he can see and talk to ghosts.
He teams up with his ghostly friends: Teodora, Don Andrés, and Alebrije. Their mission is to stop an evil overlord who wants to erase all humans from history. They get help from powerful allies. These allies are legendary creatures from different parts of the world.

- Johnny Rose as Leonardo "Leo" San Juan: Leo is a 16-year-old boy and the leader of the group. He can see and talk to ghosts. He is brave, smart, honest, and kind. Leo learns that he is meant to be a hero. He is destined to defeat a powerful evil. Even though he first wants a normal life, he soon accepts his role as a true hero.
- Oscar Cheda as Don Andrés: Don Andrés is the ghost of an old Conquistador. He says he was a barber in his living days. He often gives medical advice, which is a funny running joke. Even as a ghost, he can be quite scared sometimes.
- Annemarie Blanco as Teodora: Teodora is the ghost of a 17-year-old girl. She is actually from the future, which you can tell by her modern clothes and mobile phone. It is later shown that she is not really dead. She is in a deep sleep after an accident. A mysterious lady taught her how to send her spirit back in time. Teodora came back to help Leo. She has special powers that other ghosts don't have. She is brave and caring, always ready to help her friends, especially Leo. In season two, she starts to fall in love with Leo.
- Paul Tei as Alebrije: Alebrije is a colorful and strange creature. He looks different to everyone who sees him. His real name is hard to say, so the group calls him Alebrije. He is funny and positive. He tries to keep the team together and shares his knowledge when needed.
- Cydney J. Fam as Marcella: Marcella is a beautiful 16-year-old girl and Leo's girlfriend. Her family was thought to be sorcerers. It turns out her mother was a sorceress who was badly hurt for not helping evil plans. Marcella later gained powers from her mother. She came to Leo's village and became his friend.
- Blanca Bassion as Baba Yaga: She is an evil witch. At first, she seems to work with Quetzalcoatl. But it is later revealed that he enslaved her. She wants to be free and get revenge on him.
- Paul Tei as Friar Godofredo: He is a Friar who guided Leo. He tells Leo about the Brotherhood. This is a good organization that fights evil forces like Quetzalcoatl.
- Al-Kesne Shaw as Quetzalcoatl: This is a legendary god. He is described as a force of creation when he is happy. He is the main bad guy in the series. He wants to destroy the world to remake it. He was once trapped in another dimension, which made him want revenge.
- Lissa Grossman as Abuelita: She is Leo's grandmother.
- Andrio Chaverra as Thomas Decatur: He is an inventor from New Jersey. He becomes one of Leo's friends.
- Gerald Owens as Fenrir: This is the legendary wolf from Norse mythology. He wants to bring about Ragnarok, which is the end of the world in Norse myths. He is chained to the world tree Yggdrasil. He guards the way to it, as it connects all places and times.
- Owen Almeida as Akihito: He is a young Japanese nobleman. He is meant to inherit the magical Sword of Dawn. He is also supposed to lead the Brotherhood. This group fights mystical threats like Quetzalcoatl. With Marcella's help, Akihito finds the courage to use his family sword. The sword lets him transform into a giant, armored hero.
- Paula Barros as Nu Gui: She is a Chinese witch and part of Baba Yaga's group. She was once an Emperor's daughter. She betrayed him to become immortal, but this made her go mad. She later joins Quetzalcoatl.

Release Information
The series first came out on Netflix on February 24, 2017. It was released worldwide in 190 countries and translated into 24 to 30 languages. The producers, Fernando de Fuentes and Jose C. Garcia de Letona, felt it was important to release the show globally in many languages. They noted that Mexico, where the show is made and set, was getting more global attention. Fernando de Fuentes said, "The world is talking about Mexico and we are lucky in that sense to be able to talk about our country and its relationship with other nations[,] even if it is through cartoons."
