Level Plains is a small town in Dale County, Alabama, United States. In 2020, about 1,825 people lived there. It is part of the larger Ozark micropolitan statistical area.

Level Plains was considered a city from 2010 to 2020. However, its population decreased after the 2020 Census. Because of this, it changed back to being called a town. The town was officially started on April 30, 1965. The current mayor is Ronnie Thompson. He is the ninth mayor to serve Level Plains.

Where is Level Plains?

Level Plains is located in the southwestern part of Dale County. It sits between two other towns: Daleville to the east and Enterprise to the west. A major road, U.S. Route 84, goes right through the middle of the community.

The town covers a total area of about 7.9 square kilometers (3.07 square miles). All of this area is land, with no water.

The census in 2010 counted 2,085 people in Level Plains. There were 866 housing units, and 801 of them were lived in. The population grew by 541 people since the 2000 census. This growth caused Level Plains to be called a small city for a time.
