What the Show is About
Each episode of Life with Boys is about 14-year-old Tess Foster. She faces all the ups and downs of being a teenager. The twist is, she lives at home with her single dad and three brothers. Her dad is very protective, which can make things tricky!
Even though Tess is the only girl, the boys in her life often give her good advice. They might help her talk to a crush or deal with a mean person. Tess is even the only girl on her school's wrestling team! The show uses humor to explore these funny and sometimes tough moments in life.
Meet the Characters
Main Characters
- Tess Foster (Torri Webster) is the main character. She is 14 years old and the only girl in her house. Tess is on the school wrestling team, which is unusual for a girl. Her best friend is Allie, and they often get into funny situations together. Sometimes Tess feels overwhelmed by her brothers, but she loves them deeply. Her classmates sometimes call her the "BoyGirl Freak" because she likes sports. Tess is also part of the Mathletes club.
- Allie Brooks (Madison Pettis) is Tess's best friend. She is a popular cheerleader who loves fashion. Allie is a typical "girly girl." She spends a lot of time at Tess's house, even though she doesn't understand how Tess lives with so many boys. Allie can sometimes be a bit unhelpful when Tess has problems. She often spends her Christmas holidays in sunny places like Tahiti or Italy. Sam has a crush on Allie, and she likes him too, but not in the same romantic way.
- Gabriel "Gabe" Foster (Nathan McLeod) is Tess's 16-year-old brother. He is the oldest of the Foster kids and knows how to get what he wants. Gabe is a popular high school "heartthrob." He sometimes dates more than one girl at a time. He pretends not to like taking care of his younger siblings, but he secretly cares for Spencer.
- Samuel Joseph "Sam" Foster (Michael Murphy) is Tess's twin brother. Many characters see him as a "nerd." Sam has a big crush on Allie. However, his attempts to win her over usually don't work out.
- Spencer Foster (Jake Goodman) is Tess's youngest brother. He is 10 years old and very smart for his age. Spencer uses his cleverness to his advantage.
- Jack David Foster (Sandy Jobin-Bevans) is the dad of Tess, Gabe, Spencer, and Sam. He is also the gym teacher at their high school. Jack is a single dad and can be very protective of his family. He especially struggles with being overprotective of Tess. His wife, the kids' mom, has passed away.
Other Characters
- Bobby Parelli (John-Alan Slachta) is a wrestling champion. He was Tess's rival at first. Later, Tess and Bobby started dating, but they kept it a secret from Allie because Bobby was Allie's ex-boyfriend. Tess eventually broke up with Bobby. She found out he lied about being sick to go to a baseball game and was talking to another girl there.
- Kaylee (Francesca Martin) is often the "mean girl" of the show. She is Tess's rival, even though Allie gets along with her. Kaylee enjoys making other people unhappy. She is the head cheerleader and very popular. She can be very unkind and sometimes not very smart. For example, she once tricked Sam into doing her school project for an A+ grade. In return, she promised him one dance at the school formal. Kaylee's mom also dated Jack Foster for a while.
- Chloe (Madison Scott) is a friend who helps Allie and Tess when they are fighting. She also had a fight with her own friend, Zoe. Chloe once told Tess that she needed a boyfriend or no other girls would talk to her. Chloe gets along with Kaylee. She also told Tess she would miss her when Tess thought about changing schools. Chloe appears a few times and is close friends with Allie and Tess.
- Jessica Jones-Foster (Anne Lickings) is the late mom of Tess, Gabe, Spencer, and Sam. She was also Jack's wife. She appears as a ghost in Tess's dream. She also appears as a ghost driver in Jack's car, though no one else notices her.
