Lillord Creek is a small waterway, also called a creek, located in the northeastern part of Ontario, Canada. It is found in the Timiskaming District. This creek is an important part of the larger Saint Lawrence River system. Its waters eventually flow into this major river. Lillord Creek is a right tributary of the Blanche River. This means it flows into the Blanche River from the right side when looking downstream.
Where Lillord Creek Flows
Lillord Creek begins its journey at Lillord Lake. This lake is located in a specific area known as geographic Lee Township. From Lillord Lake, the creek flows towards the southeast. Along its path, it passes through Berube Lake and two other smaller lakes that do not have names.
The creek continues its journey southeast. It then enters another area called geographic Maisonville Township. Finally, Lillord Creek reaches its end. It flows into the Blanche River. This meeting point is about 630 meters (or 2,067 feet) west of Ontario Highway 11.
Part of a Bigger River System
The water from the Blanche River, which now includes water from Lillord Creek, travels further. It flows into Lake Timiskaming and then into the Ottawa River. Eventually, all this water reaches the mighty Saint Lawrence River. This entire network of rivers and lakes is called the Saint Lawrence River drainage basin. A drainage basin is like a giant funnel. It collects all the water from rain and snow in a specific area and directs it into one main river or lake.
Nearby Areas
Lillord Creek flows through wild, undeveloped areas. There are no towns or villages directly along its banks. The closest community to where the creek meets the Blanche River is a place called Sesekinika. Sesekinika is about 3 kilometers (or 1.9 miles) northeast of the creek's mouth.
