Lillord Lake is a lovely lake found in Lee Township, which is part of the Timiskaming District in northeastern Ontario, Canada. This lake is an important part of the huge Saint Lawrence River drainage basin. It is also where Lillord Creek begins its journey.
Discovering Lillord Lake
Lillord Lake is located in a part of Timiskaming District that isn't organized into towns. It's a natural spot in the Canadian wilderness. The closest community to the lake is Sesekinika, which is about 5.2 kilometres (3.2 mi) to the east.
Size and Shape of the Lake
Lillord Lake is not a giant lake, but it's a good size! It stretches about 720 metres (2,360 ft) long. That's almost three-quarters of a kilometer! The lake is also about 470 metres (1,540 ft) wide. Imagine nearly half a kilometer across.
Where the Water Flows
Water flows into Lillord Lake from four different spots. These are small streams that feed the lake from the south, west, north, and northeast. The main way water leaves the lake is through Lillord Creek. This creek starts at the southeast side of Lillord Lake.
Lillord Creek then flows southeast to another body of water called Berube Lake. From there, the water continues its journey to the Blanche River. The Blanche River eventually joins Lake Timiskaming, which then connects to the Ottawa River. Finally, the Ottawa River flows into the mighty Saint Lawrence River. This long path shows how Lillord Lake is connected to a very large water system called the Saint Lawrence River drainage basin.
