The homes and neighborhoods in Linganore are built around Lake Linganore. This lake was created by damming Linganore Creek. The community stretches south all the way to Interstate 70. It's located between New Market to the east and Bartonsville and Spring Ridge to the west. The center of Linganore is about 7 miles (11 km) west of downtown Frederick.
