The Nexo Knights: Defenders of Knighton
The Nexo Knights are the brave heroes who protect the kingdom of Knighton. They fight against the evil forces of Jestro and Monstrox. Here are the main members of the Nexo Knights team:
- Clay Moorington (voiced by Giles Panton) – Clay is the serious and dedicated leader of the Nexo Knights. He always follows the Knight's Code and dreamed of being a knight since he was a young orphan. His blue armor features a falcon, and his main weapon is a Claymore, which can power up into the "Sword of Strength." Clay drives the Rumble Blade, a big vehicle that can split into smaller parts. Later, he uses the Falcon Fighter Blaster. In some adventures, Clay starts turning to stone because of Monstrox's dark magic. It's later revealed that Ruina Stoneheart is his mother, making him Merlok's nephew! Clay has amazing magic powers. He eventually gets back to his normal human form and helps fight the Colossus of Ultimate Destruction.
- Princess Macy Halbert (voiced by Erin Mathews) – Princess Macy is the only girl on the Nexo Knights team. Her parents are King and Queen Halbert, but her dad wasn't too happy about her becoming a knight at first. Her armor is red with a dragon crest. Macy fights with a powerful mace. Her vehicle is the Thunder Mace, a large motorcycle with cannons. Later, she flies a dragon-shaped vehicle called "Hotspur" that can shoot fireballs.
- Lancelot "Lance" Richmond (voiced by Ian Hanlin) – Lance is a rich and sometimes spoiled Nexo Knight. He doesn't always love training and often argues with Clay. His armor is white with a horse crest, and he uses a lance in battle. He travels on his Mecha Horse/Turbo Jouster, a robot horse that turns into a motorcycle. Lance became a knight because his parents wanted him to, not because he wanted to be a celebrity. He later drives the Twin Jouster, which can split apart to go faster.
- Aaron Fox (voiced by Alessandro Juliani) – Aaron is the thrill-seeking Nexo Knight who loves adventure. His armor is green with a fox crest. He uses a Blazer Bow as his main weapon and often uses his knight shield as a hoverboard to attack from the air. His main vehicle is the Bow Flyer, a crossbow-shaped jet. When Clay turned to stone, Aaron became the temporary leader of the Nexo Knights. He later drives a new vehicle called the Rock Climber.
- Axl (voiced by Brian Drummond) – Axl is the biggest and strongest Nexo Knight, and he absolutely loves food! His armor is yellow with a bull crest, and he uses a huge battleaxe. His vehicle is the Tower Carrier, a truck that pulls a small detachable tower. Later, Axl drives the Rumble Maker, which has big drills and can even fly.
Helpful Friends and Allies
These characters help the Nexo Knights in their fight against evil:
- Merlok 2.0 (voiced by Brian Drummond) – Merlok 2.0 is a digital wizard who helps the Knights by sending them special Nexo Powers. He used to be a real wizard and a member of the Wizards' Council. He was absorbed into the castle's computers during a big battle, which is how he became Merlok 2.0. He can now send his magic digitally to the Knights' weapons and armor. He's also Clay's uncle! Later, Merlok 2.0 downloads himself into a robot body called Mechlok.
- Robin Underwood (voiced by Erin Mathews) – Robin is a first-year student at the Knights' Academy who dreams of becoming a Nexo Knight. He's a master mechanic who builds the Knights' battle suits and vehicles. His crest shows a chicken, and he often helps by using the Fortrex's weapons.

He loves his family but wasn't thrilled about Macy becoming a knight. He lets the Knights use his old RV as their Fortrex base and can even pilot a giant mech in battle.
- Queen Halbert (voiced by Nicole Oliver) – Queen Halbert is the Queen of Knighton, King Halbert's wife, and Macy's mother. Unlike her husband, she fully supports Macy's dream of being a knight and is very confident in tough situations. Macy gets her fighting skills and looks from her mom, who is also great with a mace.

- Tighty Knighties – Tightwad's personal team of knights. They look skilled but are actually quite cowardly when fighting Jestro and Monstrox's forces. Their names are funny versions of real-life celebrities.
- Robot Hoodlum – Robot Hoodlum is a rebel Squirebot who lives in Rock Wood Forest. He leads the Merry Mechs, who steal from the rich to help forgotten robots. He's not really good or bad, but looks out for his own group. He's a bit like Robin Hood.
Villains and Their Armies
These are the bad guys who try to take over Knighton:
- Monstrox (voiced by Mark Oliver) – Monstrox is the main villain of the series. He was once an evil wizard who terrorized Knighton a century ago. Merlok turned him into a sentient book of dark magic called the Book of Monsters. This book could summon monster armies. Monstrox also split his power into eleven other spellbooks. At the start of the series, Jestro finds Monstrox, who tricks him into helping him get the books back. Later, Monstrox's true form is revealed: he wants to possess a host body. Even after his book form is destroyed, Monstrox survives as a cloud-like being called the Cloud of Monstrox. He uses his lightning to corrupt Jestro again and leads the Stone Monster Army. His ultimate goal is to awaken and possess the Colossus of Ultimate Destruction to destroy Knighton.
- Jestro (voiced by Vincent Tong) – Jestro used to be the king's court jester, but people often laughed at him. Monstrox tricked him into becoming evil to get revenge. Jestro stole Merlok's magic staff and helped Monstrox find the other power books. Even though he became monstrous, Jestro sometimes had doubts about being a villain. He eventually turns good and helps the Nexo Knights. However, the Cloud of Monstrox later corrupts him again, making him even crazier. He reforms again after being freed from Monstrox's control.
- Roberto Arnoldi (voiced by Vincent Tong) – Roberto Arnoldi is a sculptor who used to work for King Halbert. He takes things very literally. After being fired, he joined Jestro and the Cloud of Monstrox to get revenge on Knightonia. He sculpts new vehicles and brings stone garden gnomes to life for the villains. After the Colossus of Ultimate Destruction is defeated, Roberto and Jestro are seen cleaning up its remains.
