Nexo Knights is an exciting 3D animated TV show from Denmark and Canada. It first aired on Cartoon Network in 2016. This show was created at the same time as a Lego toy theme with the same name. There are four seasons of the show, with 40 episodes in total. The last season aired in 2017.

Story of Nexo Knights

The story takes place in a world that mixes medieval times with a futuristic setting. Five young knights are the heroes: Clay, Aaron, Lance, Princess Macy, and Axl. They work together to protect their home, the kingdom of Knighton, and its main city, Knightonia.

Their main enemies are Jestro, the Book of Monsters, and their army of Lava Monsters. The knights get help from the Knightonia Royal Family, a digital wizard named Merlok 2.0, Robin Underwood, and Ava Prentiss.

New Villains and Challenges

In the third season, the Cloud of Monstrox appears. He was once the Book of Monsters. He takes control of Jestro again, making him help find special "Forbidden Powers." The Cloud of Monstrox uses his evil lightning to bring Stone Monsters to life.

Later, Jestro and Monstrox team up with a sculptor named Roberto Arnoldi. Roberto helps them create things out of rock for their evil plans.

Show's Ending

Even though new LEGO sets for the series were still being made, the TV show was stopped. It ended with a cliffhanger, meaning the story didn't have a clear ending. In 2018, LEGO announced that the toy theme would also be stopped. This officially confirmed that the TV series would not continue.

The Lego Nexo Knights toy line was a fantasy-themed Lego series. It was first released in January 2016. This theme was announced at New York Comic Con in 2015. It combined ideas from older space and castle Lego themes, adding a modern digital twist. It took the place of the Legends of Chima theme, which started in 2013. The Nexo Knights toy theme was stopped after the sets released in January 2018.

Toy Sets Available

Fourteen different building sets were first sold in January 2016. Their prices ranged from $9.99 to $99.99. More building sets were released in August 2016. The very first two sets were shown at New York Comic Con.

Types of Construction Sets

According to Bricklink, The Lego Group released a total of 104 Lego sets and special promotional polybags for the Lego Nexo Knights theme.

In 2016, 11 sets based on Season One were released. These included sets like Knighton Battle Blaster and Jestro's Evil Mobile. Six special "Ultimate" sets were also released, featuring characters like Ultimate Clay and Ultimate Macy. Two "Battle Packs" helped kids build armies of knights or monsters. Four small polybag sets were given as promotions.

Later in 2016, seven more sets based on Season Two came out. These included Aaron Fox's Aero-Striker V2 and Jestro's Volcano Lair. Four more "Ultimate" sets were added, such as Ultimate Axl and Ultimate Lance. There were also five key chains with minifigures.

These included large sets like The Stone Colossus of Ultimate Destruction and Knighton Castle. Five "Battle Suit" sets were also released, allowing characters like Battle Suit Clay and Battle Suit Macy to wear special armor. Five more polybag sets were promotions.

In 2018, six final sets based on Season Five were released. These included Lance's Hover Jouster and Axl's Rolling Arsenal. These were the last sets before the theme was discontinued. The Nexo Knights theme was designed for children aged 7 to 14 years old. It was meant to be a modern version of the popular Lego Castle theme, sharing many similar ideas.

Nexo Knights Books

Lego also published several books about the Lego Nexo Knights.

One important book is "Lego Nexo Knights: The Book of Monsters." This book talks about different evil spellbooks and even mentions the Book of Monsters having a crush on the Book of Love. It also includes information about the Nexo Knights and their enemies, like the Lava Monster Army.

On September 27, 2016, Scholastic released "Lego Nexo Knights: The Knights Code." This book was a guide for anyone training to be a knight.

On January 31, 2017, Scholastic released "Knights Academy: The Forbidden Power." This was a spin-off book series. It followed Fletcher Bowman, an orphan, and Izzy Richmond, Lance Richmond's little sister. They had adventures at the Knights Academy. A sequel, "Knights Academy: The Secret Classroom," has been confirmed.
