List of tallest buildings in Mississauga facts for kids
Mississauga is a big city in Ontario, Canada, located near Toronto. It's home to over 720,000 people, making it one of Canada's largest cities! Over the past few decades, Mississauga has grown super fast. This growth has led to many new and tall buildings being built, changing the city's look, or its "skyline."
Mississauga was once mostly a suburb of Toronto, meaning it was a smaller town close to a bigger city. But now, it's a major city on its own. It has lots of jobs and businesses, so it's not just a place where people sleep and then go to work in Toronto. The city has worked hard to create its own special identity. For example, in 2006, it held a contest to design a very tall and unique building called Absolute World. This building was meant to be a special landmark for the city.
As of 2020, Mississauga has 28 buildings that are taller than 100 meters (about 328 feet). Ten more tall buildings are being built right now! The third and fourth tallest buildings are the famous Absolute World towers, which are like twisted towers. They stand at about 175.6 meters (576 feet) and 157.9 meters (518 feet) tall. By 2024, there will be five skyscrapers taller than 170 meters. The tallest one planned is called M3, which will be about 260 meters (853 feet) tall with 81 floors! When it's finished, M3 will be the tallest building in Ontario outside of Toronto.
