Little Gables is a small place in Miami-Dade County, Florida, that isn't officially a city or town. It's called "Little Gables" because it sits right between two bigger cities: Coral Gables and Miami.
Where is Little Gables Located?
Little Gables is surrounded by Coral Gables on three sides: to the east, west, and south. To the north, it shares a border with a neighborhood in Miami called Flagami.
A Brief History of Little Gables
For many years, people have talked about the idea of Coral Gables taking over Little Gables. This process is called annexation. One attempt to do this happened in 2018 and 2019. However, it didn't work out. The main reason was that there wasn't enough affordable housing for people living in a trailer park in Little Gables. Coral Gables had plans to build new things where the trailer park was.
Who Lives in Little Gables?
In 2018, Little Gables was counted along with two other nearby areas, High Pines and Ponce-Davis. All three of these places are also not officially cities. Together, they had about 5,490 people living there.
