Little Havana (which means "Little Havana" in Spanish) is a lively neighborhood in Miami, Florida. Many people from Cuba have made their homes here. They came to the United States seeking a new life. Florida is close to Cuba, which made it a common place for them to settle.
The area is called Little Havana because Havana is the capital city of Cuba. You can also find a smaller Little Havana in Tampa, Florida.
Over time, more people from other countries like Honduras, Nicaragua, and Guatemala have moved into the neighborhood. At the same time, some Cuban families have moved to other parts of Miami. A small part of Little Havana is now sometimes called Little Managua. This name comes from Managua, which is the capital of Nicaragua.
Calle Ocho Festival
The Calle Ocho Festival is a very famous event. It takes place every year in Little Havana. The festival celebrates Cuban culture with music, food, and dancing.
