Little Orleans is a small community in Allegany County, Maryland, United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area the government counts for population, even though it's not an official city or town. In 2020, about 65 people lived there.
Location and History
Little Orleans is located right on the Potomac River. This river forms the border between Maryland and West Virginia. It's also where a smaller stream called Fifteenmile Creek flows into the Potomac. Across the river in West Virginia is a place called Orleans Cross Roads.
In the past, Little Orleans was an important stop for transportation. It was served by the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal. This canal was a waterway used to move goods. It was also served by the Western Maryland Railway, a train line. Both the canal and the railway are no longer used today.

Things to Do and See
Even though Little Orleans is a quiet place, it has some interesting spots.
- Bill's Place: This is a local restaurant and store. It is located right next to the old Chesapeake & Ohio Canal.
- Motorcycle Rally: Every August, a big event called "Apple's East Coast Motorcycle Rally" takes place here. Thousands of visitors come to the town for this rally. It used to be known as "East Coast Sturgis."
