Jack Owen Ingram (born November 15, 1970) is an American country music artist. He is a talented singer and songwriter. Jack has released many albums and singles throughout his career. He became very popular in late 2005 with his song "Wherever You Are". This song was a number one hit on the Billboard country charts. It was also the first number one hit for his record label, Big Machine Records. Jack has had six other songs reach the Top 40 on the country charts. These include "Love You", "Lips of an Angel", and "Barefoot and Crazy".

Early Life and Music Journey
Jack Ingram was born in Houston, Texas. He started writing songs and performing when he was in college. He studied psychology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
In the early 1990s, Jack began his music career. He sang at a bar in Fort Worth, Texas. He also toured around Texas, opening for other musicians. His first album, Jack Ingram, came out in 1995. He released another album, Lonesome Questions, that same year. Later, Warner Bros. Records signed him. They released a live album called Live at Adair's.
In 1997, Jack appeared on the TV show Austin City Limits. He also released the album Livin' or Dyin'. A song from this album, "Flutter", was his first song to appear on the music charts. Two years later, he released Hey You. This album included the song "How Many Days". In 2000, he worked with Charlie Robison and Bruce Robison on a live album called Unleashed Live.
His album Electric was released in 2002. It was his first album to appear on the Top Country Albums chart. He later released an EP (a shorter album) called Electric: Extra Volts. In 2004, he released the album Young Man.
Success with Big Machine Records
In 2005, Jack Ingram joined the Big Machine Records label. His first release with them was a live album called Live: Wherever You Are. The song "Wherever You Are" from this album became his first song to reach the Top 40. It then became his first and only number one hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. This was also the first number one hit for the Big Machine label. Another song from the album, "Love You", reached number 12 on the charts.
In 2006, Jack released a cover of the song "Lips of an Angel". His version reached number 16 on the country charts. This song was on his second album for Big Machine, called This Is It. Other songs from this album, like "Measure of a Man" and "Maybe She'll Get Lonely", also did well.
Jack won the Academy of Country Music award for Top New Male Vocalist in 2008. He also filled in as a host for the radio show "Bob Kingsley's Country Top 40".
His album Big Dreams & High Hopes came out in 2009. The song "That's a Man" from this album reached the Top 20. "Barefoot and Crazy" became his second Top 10 hit.
On August 26, 2009, Jack Ingram set a Guinness record. He had 215 radio interviews in one day! Jack and Big Machine Records decided to go their separate ways in late 2011.
Besides singing, Jack also does voice work for country radio stations. He helps create the sounds and voices you hear between songs and commercials.
Helping Others
In 2013, Jack teamed up with actor Matthew McConaughey and football coach Mack Brown. They created a fundraiser called Mack, Jack & McConaughey. This event raised money for their favorite children's charities. It included a gala, a golf tournament, a fashion show, and two nights of music. The event was so successful that they brought it back in 2014.
