Lockney is a town in Floyd County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,498 at the 2020 census, down from 1,842 at the 2010 census.
Geography
Lockney is located in northwestern Floyd County at 34°7′23″N 101°26′36″W / 34.12306°N 101.44333°W (34.122961, –101.443414). U.S. Route 70 passes through the town, leading southeast 12 miles (19 km) to Floydada, the county seat, and northwest 16 miles (26 km) to Plainview.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Lockney has a total area of 1.5 square miles (4.0 km2), all of it land.
