Where is Locust Located?
Locust is in the southwestern part of Stanly County. Over time, the city has grown and now reaches into Cabarrus County. The town of Stanfield is right next to Locust on its southern side.
Getting Around Locust: Major Roads
The main part of Locust is where two important roads meet: North Carolina Highway 24/27 and North Carolina Highway 200. You can travel east on NC 24/27 for about 15 miles to reach Albemarle. If you go west, you'll head towards the larger Charlotte area.
Using NC 27, Charlotte's city center is about 25 miles away. NC 200 goes northwest towards US 601, leading to Concord, which is about 15 miles away. If you take NC 200 southwest, you'll reach Monroe in about 22 miles.
