Charles Lorenzo Bundy, born on November 6, 1959, is an American baseball expert. He used to play in the minor leagues. Now, he is a manager for the Diablos Rojos del México team in the Mexican League. He has also worked as a coach for big teams like the Colorado Rockies, Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Miami Marlins in Major League Baseball.

Playing Baseball
Lorenzo Bundy went to James Madison University. There, he was a great first baseman. He hit so many home runs that he ranks second in the school's history.
In 1977, the Baltimore Orioles picked him in the MLB draft. However, he decided not to sign with them.
After college, he signed with the Texas Rangers. He also played for teams in the Pittsburgh Pirates and Montreal Expos systems.
Bundy played for eight seasons in the minor leagues and the Mexican League. He ended his playing career with a .318 batting average. He also hit 135 home runs and had 535 RBIs.
Coaching and Managing Teams
After playing, Lorenzo Bundy became a manager. He started in 1990 with the Montreal Expos' minor league teams. He managed the Gulf Coast Expos, then the Sumter Flyers and Albany Polecats. From 1993 to 1994, he managed the Burlington Bees.
In 1995, Bundy joined the Florida Marlins system. He was the hitting coach for the Brevard County Manatees. In 1997, he became their manager. The next year, he coached outfielders and baserunning for all the Marlins' minor league teams.
Major League Coaching
In 1999, Bundy became the bullpen coach for the Colorado Rockies in Major League Baseball. He worked under manager Jim Leyland.
After Leyland left, Bundy went back to coaching minor league outfielders and baserunning for the Rockies in 2000 and 2001.
In 2002, he was the hitting coach for the Pawtucket Red Sox. In 2003, he coached hitting for the El Paso Diablos. That year, the Diablos had the best batting average in their league.
Working with the Diamondbacks and Dodgers
From 2004 to 2006, Bundy was the hitting coach for the Tucson Sidewinders, a team for the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 2006, the Sidewinders won the PCL and Triple-AAA Championships. He also briefly helped the Diamondbacks' main team in 2004.
In 2007, he joined the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. He managed the Las Vegas 51s for two years.
Bundy returned to the Diamondbacks in 2009 as the first base coach. Later, he went back to the Dodgers' system. He managed the Arizona League Dodgers in 2010. Then, he managed the Albuquerque Isotopes from 2011 to 2013. In 2012, he was named the Pacific Coast League Manager of the Year.
On November 11, 2013, he became the third base coach for the Dodgers. He later became an outfield coach for the rest of the 2015 season.
Mexican League Success
Lorenzo Bundy has also managed teams in the Mexican Pacific League since 1991. He has won three championships there:
- With Navojoa in 1999–2000.
- With Hermosillo in 2006–2007.
- With Mazatlán in 2008–2009.
He has also been named Manager of the Year twice in this league.
Recent Coaching Roles
On December 4, 2015, Bundy became the outfield and baserunning coach for the Miami Marlins. He stayed with them until the end of the 2017 season.
In 2018, he managed the Class AAA Pericos de Puebla. He also managed the Tomateros de Culiacan in the Mexican Pacific League for a short time.
In November 2018, he became the manager for the Generales de Durango in the Mexican League. He later joined the Acereros de Monclova as their bench coach. In late 2019, he returned to manage the Mayos de Navojoa.
In 2020, Bundy was named manager of the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. This is a Double-A team for the New York Mets. The 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He returned to manage the Rumble Ponies in 2021.
In 2022, Bundy became the manager of the Winston-Salem Dash, a High-A team for the Chicago White Sox. After one season, he was named manager of the Birmingham Barons.
In November 2023, Lorenzo Bundy was appointed as the manager of the Diablos Rojos del México in the Mexican League.
