In December 1731, a marriage was planned for Louise Diane. She was to marry her distant cousin, Louis François de Bourbon, Prince of Conti. Her mother, Françoise Marie de Bourbon, helped arrange the marriage. Her cousin, Louise Élisabeth de Bourbon, who would become her mother-in-law, also helped.
Louise Diane was baptized on January 19, 1732. The ceremony was led by the Cardinal of Rohan. Three days later, on January 22, she married the Prince of Conti. The wedding took place at the famous Palace of Versailles. Louise was fifteen years old at the time. Her cousin, Élisabeth Alexandrine de Bourbon, helped carry her wedding dress.
