Lucía Gil's Early Career
Lucía Gil first became famous when she won the Spanish version of My Camp Rock in 2009. However, she had already been singing for a while. At just seven years old, she took part in a TV singing contest called Veo Veo. She also shared many videos of herself singing cover songs on YouTube.
In 2009, when she was 10, Lucía joined the My Camp Rock competition. This show was made by Disney Channel Spain. She did very well, making it to the semifinals and then the finals. Because she received the most votes on the Disney Channel Spain website, she became the winner!
Lucía's Acting Roles
Also in 2009, Lucía was asked by RTVE to act in a TV series called Gran Reserva. She played the daughter of one of the main families in the show. It first aired on La 1 in 2010 and made Lucía even more famous. Her character, however, was written out of the show at the end of the first season.
Lucía has also starred in other TV series. She was in La Gira, a show produced by Disney Channel Spain. She also appeared in Violetta, a series made by Disney Channel Latin America. In La Gira, which is about musicians, Lucía played one of the main characters. She was the singer of a band called Pop4U and recorded several songs for the show.
In 2013, Lucía filmed a TV series called The Avatars. This show was in English and featured American actors. It was made for a global audience by a Spanish company called Portocabo. Lucía played Carmen, a videoblogger who was a big fan of a band called The Avatar. Carmen traveled to the USA to meet her favorite band.
