My Camp Rock facts for kids
My Camp Rock was a fun singing competition show. It was inspired by the popular Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock and its sequel, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. The show aired in different countries. The United Kingdom had two series. Sweden, Denmark, and Norway had two versions called My Camp Rock Scandinavia. In 2010, Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg launched their own version called My Camp Rock Benelux.

My Camp Rock 2009
The first season of My Camp Rock in the UK aired on Disney Channel UK in April 2009. Kids aged 8 to 16 could enter by sending a video of themselves singing songs like "This Is Me" or "We Rock".
The best 8 entries were chosen to join a special 4-day singing and dancing workshop. This workshop was just like the one in the Camp Rock movies! Judges then picked 4 acts to compete in the Final Jam. Viewers voted for the winner.
The winner was Holly Hull, a 14-year-old from Camberley, Surrey. Her prize was to professionally record her own version of "This is Me" and make a music video.

The show started on April 3, 2009. Hosts JK and Joel introduced the "Camp Rockers" (the contestants). A vocal coach, Zoe Tyler, and choreographer, Gary Lloyd, also joined. The Camp Rockers sang solo for the judges. Then, they had their first singing and dancing lessons.
- Episode 2
This episode aired on April 10, 2009. It showed the contestants training for the "Camp Jam." They also found out which songs they would perform. It was announced that four judges would pick the top four acts for the final.

The "Camp Jam" took place on April 17, 2009. The contestants performed their songs. The four judges, including Zoe Tyler and Gary Lloyd, chose the best four acts.

The winner was announced on April 25, 2009. The pop group The Saturdays performed, and Demi Lovato sang her song "La La Land." Demi Lovato also presented the trophy. The winner was 14-year-old Holly Hull!
My Camp Rock 2 (2010)
My Camp Rock 2 started on August 13, 2010. Sarah Jane Crawford and Nigel Clarke were the presenters. Trainers John Modi and Beth Honan gave the finalists tasks each week. These tasks helped them improve their performance skills.
The public voted for Shannon Saunders to win My Camp Rock 2. She won a professional recording and music video for her version of a song from the show.

Episodes of 2010
- Episode 1
The 4 finalists were introduced. John Modi gave them a task to go busking in Covent Garden. Beth Honan surprised them with the dance group Flawless. Flawless helped them learn the dance for the Camp Rock 2 song "Fire."
- Episode 2
The finalists learned which songs they would perform in the final. John Modi chose songs that fit their styles. They also practiced parts of the Camp Rock 2 song "It's On" as a group. Pop star Simon Webbe gave them individual coaching. They performed their songs at the International Youth Arts Festival.
- Episode 3
Beth Honan gave the finalists one-on-one lessons to build their confidence. John Modi gave them individual challenges. For example, Leanne climbed a wall to overcome a fear of heights. Shannon worked at a market stall to get used to performing for crowds. These tasks helped them feel more confident.
- Episode 4
The finalists performed individual concerts in their hometowns for friends and family. They also arrived at the venue for the My Camp Rock 2 final, Koko.
- Episode 5
This was the final episode, airing on September 10, 2010. The finalists performed their last songs. The public voted for 16-year-old Shannon Saunders as the winner. She sang "Introducing Me." Shannon, a self-taught guitarist and pianist, won a professional recording and music video. She later recorded "I See the Light" for the Disney film Tangled.
- My Camp Rock 2 Extra Jam
This was a series of short 5-minute videos. They showed the finalists of My Camp Rock 2. These shorts included sneak peeks of performances, interviews, training, and tasks.

A second season aired in 2010. The winner was 13-year-old Vendela Hollström from Sweden. She sang "Its Not Too Late." The song "Fire," performed by Ola Svensson (Sweden), Mohamed Ali (Denmark), and Endre Nordvik (Norway), became a well-known theme song for My Camp Rock 2.
