The Story Behind "This Is Me"
This song is very important in the movie Camp Rock. It is the first song that Demi Lovato's character, Mitchie Torres, sings with Joe Jonas's character, Shane Gray.
How the Song Appears in the Movie
- Mitchie writes the song at the beginning of the film.
- Later, Shane hears Mitchie singing an acoustic (piano) version of the song. He cannot see her, but he loves her voice.
- Shane then tries to find the girl with the amazing voice.
- During the "Final Jam" session, Mitchie sings the full version of "This Is Me."
- Shane sees her and joins in, singing parts of a song he wrote called "Gotta Find You."
- The two songs are then combined to create the version heard on the Camp Rock soundtrack.
