Ludivine Sagnier (born on July 3, 1979) is a famous French actress. She has been nominated three times for the César Award for Best Supporting Actress. This award is one of the highest honors in French cinema. Her nominations were for her roles in the films Swimming Pool (2003), 8 Women (2003), and A Secret (2007).

Ludivine Sagnier's Acting Journey
Ludivine Sagnier was born in La Celle-Saint-Cloud, a town in France. Her mother was a secretary, and her father taught English at the University of Paris.
She started her acting career very young, at just nine years old. Her first film was Les Maris, les Femmes, les Amants in 1989. In the early 1990s, she had small parts in other movies. One of these was Cyrano de Bergerac, where she acted alongside the well-known actor Gerard Depardieu.
Studying and Returning to Film
In 1994, Ludivine went to study at the Versailles Conservatoire. This is a special school for music and drama. She even won an award there for classical music!
After her studies, she returned to acting in films. She became very successful, especially in movies directed by François Ozon.
Big Roles and Awards
One of her most famous films was the musical comedy 8 Women (2002). In this movie, Ludivine and her seven co-stars all won acting awards together.
The next year, she starred with Charlotte Rampling in Ozon's exciting movie Swimming Pool. Her role in this film also earned her many nominations and awards.
Ludivine has played many interesting characters. She was even Tinker Bell in the 2003 film Peter Pan. She also appeared in the crime thriller Mesrine: Public Enemy No.1.
Recent Projects
In 2011, three of Ludivine's films were shown in Los Angeles. She attended all the screenings. These films included Pieds nus sur les limaces (also known as Lily Sometimes), Love Crime, and The Devil's Double. That same year, she also acted in Beloved with Catherine Deneuve.
More recently, Ludivine starred as Esther Aubry in the TV series The Young Pope in 2016. She played the same character again in the follow-up series The New Pope in 2020. Since 2021, Ludivine has been playing the character Claire in the French thriller series Lupin, which is available on Netflix. In 2022, she played Diane de Poitiers in the Starz series The Serpent Queen. She also appeared in the 2023 film Napoleon.
Ludivine Sagnier's Family Life
In 2005, Ludivine had a daughter with actor Nicolas Duvauchelle. She is now in a relationship with director Kim Chapiron. They have two daughters together, born in 2009 and 2014.
