Luiz Carlos Bombonato Goulart, known to many as Luizão, is a famous Brazilian football player who used to play as a forward. He was born on November 14, 1975. After retiring from playing, he became a football expert, sharing his knowledge.
Luizão played for the Brazilian national team 12 times. He scored two important goals in a game against Venezuela during the 2002 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. This helped Brazil win 3–0 and secured his spot in the team for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Brazil, led by coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, went on to win the World Cup that year!

Luizão's Football Journey
Luizão was born in Rubinéia, a city in Brazil. He is one of the few special players who played for the four biggest football clubs in São Paulo: Santos, Palmeiras, Corinthians, and São Paulo. He even became the top goal scorer in at least one tournament for three of these teams.
Early Career and Success
Luizão started his professional career at Guarani Futebol Clube. There, he played alongside his good friends Djalminha and Márcio Amoroso. He quickly showed his talent for scoring goals.
Later, Luizão and Djalminha moved to Palmeiras. At Palmeiras, Luizão helped the team win many important titles. One of these was the São Paulo State Championship in 1996. During that season, he scored 22 goals, helping his team score a total of 102 goals!
Playing in Europe
After his time at Palmeiras, Luizão followed Djalminha to Spain to play for Deportivo de La Coruña in La Liga. However, he found it hard to settle in Spain and soon returned to Brazil. He joined Vasco da Gama.
In 2002, Luizão tried playing in Europe again. He joined Hertha BSC, a German club in the Bundesliga. This time, his time there was also not very successful, and he left the team in January 2004.
Later Career and Retirement
Luizão continued to play for several Brazilian clubs, including Botafogo, São Paulo, Santos, and Flamengo. He also had a short time playing in Japan for Nagoya Grampus.
He finished his playing career after a long and successful journey in football.
