Luleå Hockeyförening, often called Luleå Hockey, is a professional ice hockey team from Luleå, Sweden. They play in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). This is the top ice hockey league in Sweden.
Luleå Hockey has been in the SHL since the 1984–85 season. They are the team located furthest north in the league. They have won the Swedish Championship twice. Their first win was in 1996 and their second was in 2025. Since joining the top league in 1984, they have never had to play extra games to stay in the league. This shows how strong they are!

Team History
Luleå Hockeyförening started on May 2, 1977. It was first called GroKo Hockey. This name came from a big sponsor. The team was formed by combining the ice hockey parts of two other clubs: IFK Luleå and Luleå SK.
First Championship Win
The 1995–1996 season was very special for Luleå HF. They won their first Swedish Championship title! They beat Västra Frölunda HC in the final series. The score was 3–1, meaning Luleå won three games to Frölunda's one.
European and Champions League Success
On December 16, 2012, Luleå HF won the European Trophy. They defeated Färjestads BK 2–0 in the final game. This big match took place in Bratislava.
Luleå HF also won the 2014–15 Champions Hockey League title. They beat Frölunda HC 4–2 in the final series. This exciting game happened right in their home arena in Luleå.
Second Swedish Championship
The 2024–2025 season brought more glory to Luleå HF. They won their second Swedish Championship title! They beat Brynäs IF 4–1 in the final series. This was another amazing victory for the team.
Recent Seasons
Luleå Hockey has had many strong seasons. They often finish near the top of the league. For example, in the 2019–20 season, they finished in 1st place! The playoffs that year were cancelled. In the 2021–22 season, they made it all the way to the finals. They played against Färjestad BK but lost in a very close series, 3–4.
