Michael Connor Gainey, born on January 18, 1948, is an American actor. He is known for playing many different kinds of characters in movies and TV shows. Some of his most famous roles include Lost, Con Air, Sideways, Tangled, and Django Unchained.

Early life

Gainey was born in Jackson, Mississippi, in the United States. When he was younger, he went to the University of Southern Mississippi. Later, in the early 1970s, he studied acting at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, California. Before becoming an actor, he even worked as an apprentice for a funeral director! He also served in the U.S. Army in Turkey in 1969.

Career

M. C. Gainey started his acting career in movies in 1981. His first big movie was a musical called Pennies from Heaven. In this film, he acted alongside famous stars like Steve Martin and Bernadette Peters.

He has appeared in many popular TV shows. He was a regular on the series Against the Law. He also played the character Tom Friendly on the hit show Lost. Gainey has been a guest star on over 40 different television shows. You might have seen him in shows like The Dukes of Hazzard, Knight Rider, Cheers, The X-Files, Criminal Minds, CSI, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He even appeared in Girl Meets World, a show popular with young audiences.

In movies, Gainey has played many memorable roles. In 1997, he was in the action movie Con Air, playing a character named Earl "Swamp Thing" Williams. He also appeared in the movie Sideways in 2004. In 2010, he voiced the Captain of the Palace Guard in the Disney animated movie Tangled. He later returned to this role for the TV series Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure from 2017 to 2020. In 2012, he was in Quentin Tarantino's film Django Unchained.

M. C. Gainey has been married to his wife, Kim Novicki, since 2002.
