MIRA is a tall, 39-story building in San Francisco, California. It's a residential skyscraper, which means people live in its many apartments. The building is about 422 feet (129 meters) high. It was once called Folsom Bay Tower.
MIRA is part of a big building plan in San Francisco. It sits near the waterfront. A company called Tishman Speyer built it. The building has 391 apartments, called condominiums. Some of these homes are set aside to be more affordable. The project also includes a smaller eight-story building and some townhomes. MIRA is close to other buildings by the same developer, like The Infinity and LUMINA.

Building History
The unique, wavy design for MIRA was first shown in 2014. It was created by architect Jeanne Gang from Studio Gang Architects. The land where MIRA stands used to be part of a highway that was taken down.
How the Building Got Taller
The area was originally set up for buildings about 300 feet (91 meters) tall. But the city allowed MIRA to be taller, up to 400 feet (122 meters). This happened because the developer agreed to offer more affordable homes. They increased the number of affordable apartments from 33% to 40%.
Construction Timeline
The land for MIRA was officially sold to the developer in 2016. In March 2017, another company, Shanghai Longlife Business Group, bought half of the project. Construction on MIRA began in April 2017.
By May 2019, the building reached its full height. Its white outside walls looked mostly finished. The construction was announced as completed in November 2019. MIRA officially opened in 2020.
MIRA's Special Features
MIRA is known for its amazing design. Because of its spiraling shape, each apartment has a slightly different layout. Many units also have unique bay windows. These windows stick out from the building, giving great views.
Unique Design and Materials
The building's design uses "spiral tiers." This means it looks like ribbons of glass and white panels wrapping around. This special look was made possible by a complex "curtain wall" system. A curtain wall is the outer covering of a building. It keeps out weather but doesn't support the building's weight. In 2019, a magazine called Curbed said MIRA was one of the most important buildings of the past ten years. They praised its spiraling glass and white panels. They also noted how the modern bay windows were inspired by San Francisco's older buildings.
