Machine Shop Records is a record label started by Linkin Park band members, Brad Delson and Mike Shinoda. They founded it in 2001. This label is known for releasing different kinds of music. These include rock, hip hop, alternative rock, and nu metal.
The label helped launch artists like Skylar Grey (who used to be called Holly Brook). They also worked with Styles of Beyond and No Warning. Mike Shinoda's own project, Fort Minor, also released music through Machine Shop. By 2014, the label had released over 80 albums and EPs.

History
Early years (1999–2002)

The label was first called The Shinoda Imprint. It was named after Mike Shinoda. The idea for Machine Shop started in 1999. Back then, the band was packing CDs for their first fans.
At first, the label could only release special EPs (Extended Plays) for Linkin Park's fan club. Mike Shinoda wanted to release Linkin Park's main albums through his label. But Warner Bros. Records already handled those. The first release from the label was LP Underground 2.0 in 2002. This was for the fan club. It came with cool extras like T-shirts and stickers.
Mainstream success (2003–2007)
Later, the label changed its name to Machine Shop. All the band members got more involved. Brad Delson became an A&R representative. This means he helped find new artists.
The label became very successful with the EP Collision Course. This was a collaboration between Jay-Z and Linkin Park. It came out in 2004. The EP sold over a million copies in America. Machine Shop then signed new artists like No Warning. Suffer, Survive by No Warning was the first album not by Linkin Park released by the label alone. It came out in 2004.
In 2005, Machine Shop released The Rising Tied by Fort Minor. This was Mike Shinoda's side project. This album's success led to more artists joining the label. These included Styles of Beyond and Skylar Grey (then Holly Brook). The song "Where'd You Go" featuring Holly Brook was a big hit. It reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
In 2006, the label gained more attention. The song "Numb/Encore" by Linkin Park and Jay-Z won a Grammy Award. Machine Shop also released its own mixtape in 2005. It featured many different artists.
Hiatus and return (2007–present)
From 2007 to 2009, Machine Shop Recordings took a break. Mike Shinoda said this was because of disagreements with Warner Bros. Records. During this time, some artists like Holly Brook and Styles of Beyond left the label.
In 2009, the label started releasing music again. They worked on charity projects like Download to Donate for Haiti. The first big album after the break was Linkin Park's A Thousand Suns in 2010. This album reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart. This marked the label's return to major success. Other successful albums followed, like Living Things and The Hunting Party.
In 2013, the label released a non-Linkin Park album called Resurrection of the Wolf by No Warning. Machine Shop Records continues to release Linkin Park's singles in the United States. They also released The Hunting Party in Australia, which was a first after their break.
