Getting Around: Transportation
The main roads that go through Madison are U.S. Route 29 Business and Virginia State Route 231. Both of these highways follow Main Street as they pass through the town.
- US 29 Business is an older part of U.S. Route 29. The main US 29 highway now goes around the town, just to the southeast.
- US 29 can take you southwest towards Charlottesville or northeast towards Washington, D.C..
- SR 231 goes southeast towards Orange and northwest towards Sperryville.
