Margaret Jane Blye (born October 24, 1942 – died March 24, 2016) was an American actress. She was also sometimes known as Margaret Bly. Many people remember her best for playing Michael Caine's girlfriend in the movie The Italian Job (1969).

Early Life and Acting Beginnings
Maggie Blye had a sister named Judy Blye Wilson, who became a casting director. After studying business at the University of Texas, Maggie decided to try acting. She then went to the UCLA.
While at UCLA, she performed in a play called West Side Story. A talent scout from 20th Century Fox studios saw her performance. This led to her starting a career in acting.
Television Roles
Maggie Blye appeared in many popular television shows. She was a regular on the ABC-TV show Kodiak. In this show, she played Maggie, a police radio dispatcher.
One of her first TV roles was in a 1965 episode of Perry Mason. She also appeared on shows like Hazel and Ben Casey. She was on Gunsmoke twice. In one episode, she played a character named "Girl." In another, she had a bigger role as a clever gold digger.
Later in her career, she appeared in other TV series. These included Hart to Hart, The Rockford Files, and Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. She was also in four episodes of In the Heat of the Night, including the very first episode.
Film Career
Maggie Blye acted in several well-known movies. She was in the 1967 Paul Newman film Hombre. She also starred with Michael Caine in the 1969 movie The Italian Job. She appeared with James Coburn in Waterhole No. 3 (1967) and again in Hard Times (1975).
Other movies she was in include The Sporting Club (1971). She also appeared in Walking Tall: Final Chapter (1977). This was the third film about the life of Sheriff Buford Pusser. She also acted in the horror film The Entity (1982). In another film, Ash Wednesday, she played Elizabeth Taylor's daughter.
Towards the end of the 1970s, her career changed. She noticed that she was no longer chosen for romantic roles. She said that in just two years, she went from playing daughters to playing mothers.
Maggie Blye continued to act in films in the 2000s. These included Last Goodbye (2004) and the horror comedy The Gingerdead Man (2005).
She was also active in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. She joined the organization in 1968. She was part of the committee that screened films for the Foreign Language Film Award.
Death
Maggie Blye passed away on March 24, 2016. She was 73 years old. She died from cancer at her home in West Hollywood, California.
