Maidenwell is a small country town in Queensland, Australia. It's part of the South Burnett Region. In 2021, about 227 people lived in the area around Maidenwell.

History of Maidenwell
The town got its name from an early settler, John King. He dug the first well in the area, and that's how "Maidenwell" came to be.
Early Services
Maidenwell had its own Post Office, which opened in 1906. Before that, there was a smaller mail service called Pinpinbugie since 1900. The Post Office closed in 1978.
Schools in the Area
Over the years, several schools opened and closed in the Maidenwell area.
- Peron State School started in 1914. It moved and changed its name to Maidenwell State School in 1934. It closed in 1938.
- This school moved again in 1939, reopening as Maidenwell State School. It closed in 1942 and reopened in 1943.
- In 1949, the school moved to Pimpimbudgee and was renamed Tanduringie State School.
- Tureen State School was open from 1915 to 1925.
- Tandaringie State School was open from 1915 to 1932.
- Another Maidenwell Provisional School opened in 1921. It became Maidenwell State School in 1923, then Pimpimbudgee State School, and closed in 1946.
- A different Maidenwell Provisional School opened in 1926. A new building was built in 1934, and it became Wengenville State School. It closed in 1961.
Modern Community
The Maidenwell Community Library opened in 2000, giving locals a place to read and learn.
