Mallika Srinivasan, born on November 19, 1959, is a very important Indian business leader. She is the Chairman and Managing Director of Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited, also known as TAFE. This company, started in 1960 in Chennai, India, is a major maker of tractors.
From April 1, 2021, until November 18, 2025, she was the Chairperson of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB). This board helps the Government of India choose leaders for public companies. Mallika Srinivasan is also part of the Global Board of the U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC). She serves on the Boards of AGCO Corporation in the United States. She is a key member of the BRICS Women's Business Alliance (BRICS WBA). She also helps guide the India-US CEO Forum. Additionally, she is a member of the Governing Body of Stella Maris College in Chennai.

Her Education Journey
Mallika Srinivasan studied mathematics at the Women's Christian College. She later earned a gold medal in Econometrics from the University of Madras. She also studied at the Wharton School of Business, which is part of the University of Pennsylvania. There, she was on the Dean's Honor List and joined the Alpha Beta Gamma Society. She was even named one of Wharton's top 125 most successful former students.
Her Career in Business
Mallika Srinivasan helped TAFE become a huge maker of tractors. She guided the company's growth to earn more than Rs. 10,000 Crores (which is a lot of money!). TAFE now works in many areas. These include tractors, farm machinery, diesel engines, and generators. They also deal with engineering plastics, hydraulic pumps, and car dealerships.
She has led many important groups in the industry. These include the Tractor Manufacturers' Association of India. She also led the Madras Chamber of Commerce. She has held various roles in groups like the Confederation of Indian Industry. She was also part of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.
Giving Back to the Community
Mallika Srinivasan supports many good causes. She helps organizations like the Sankara Nethralaya, which is a leading eye hospital. She also supports the Cancer Hospital in Chennai.
