Lieutenant General Manvel Sektori Grigoryan (Armenian: Մանվել Սեկտորի Գրիգորյան; 14 July 1956 – 19 November 2020) was an Armenian military leader. He was also a member of the National Assembly of Armenia, which is like the country's parliament. He held a very high position in the Armenian Army, serving as Deputy Minister of Defense from 2000 to 2008. He was also the president of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union from 1999 to 2018.

Early Life and Military Career
Manvel Grigoryan was born on July 14, 1956. His hometown was Arshaluys in the Armavir Province. He served in the Soviet Army from 1975 to 1977. Later, he continued his education. He graduated from Stepanakert State University in 1993. He also studied at Yerevan State University, finishing there in 1998.
Role in the First Karabakh War
During the First Nagorno-Karabakh War, Manvel Grigoryan was a key military commander. He led Armenian forces in important battles. These included defending Hadrut. He also helped retake the region of Martakert. His forces were also involved in capturing Fuzuli.
From 1992 to 1993, he commanded the Ejmiatsin Volunteer Battalion. In 1993, he became the commander of the 83rd Motorized Rifle Brigade. He continued to rise in the military ranks. Between 1996 and 2000, he was appointed commander of the 1st Army Corps of the Ministry of Defense. During this time, he earned the rank of major general. In 2000, he became deputy defense minister and received the rank of lieutenant general.
Political Involvement
In 1999, Manvel Grigoryan became the president of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union. This is a group of veterans and volunteers.
Role in 2008 Protests
After the 2008 Armenian presidential election, there were protests. Some people thought Grigoryan might get involved. He stated in 2012 that he worked to keep the Yerkrapah Union out of politics during those events. On April 2, 2008, he was removed from his role as deputy defense minister.
Becoming a Member of Parliament
On May 6, 2012, he was elected to the parliament. He became a deputy for the Republican Party of Armenia. During his time in parliament, he worked closely with Sedrak Saroyan.
Later Life and Death
Manvel Grigoryan passed away on November 19, 2020. He was 64 years old. He had been in a serious condition before his death. He had become sick with COVID-19 after being in Artsakh. Former president Serzh Sargsyan sent his condolences to Grigoryan's family. Grigoryan was not buried at Yerablur in Yerevan. This was a place he reportedly wished to be buried. His funeral was held in his hometown of Arshaluys.
Personal Life and Awards
Manvel Grigoryan was married to Nazik Amiryan. They had eight children together. His son, Karen Grigoryan, served as the former mayor of Vagharshapat.
Throughout his military service, Grigoryan received several national awards:
