Marcus's Music Journey
Before The X Factor
Before Marcus Collins became a solo artist, he was part of a boyband called Eton Road. This band became famous on the third series of The X Factor. Marcus did not appear on the show with them at that time. He joined the band later, after one of the original members left.
Becoming an X Factor Finalist
In 2011, Marcus decided to try out for The X Factor as a solo singer. He sang for judges Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, and Tulisa. All four judges liked his audition and sent him to the next stage.
He then moved on to the "judges' houses" round. There, Gary Barlow chose him to be in his "Boys" category for the live shows. Marcus was one of only a few singers chosen from over 200,000 people who auditioned. He made it all the way to the grand final at Wembley Arena.
