Marcus Derrickson (born February 1, 1996) is an American professional basketball player. He plays for the Seoul Samsung Thunders in the Korean Basketball League (KBL). Marcus played college basketball for Georgetown University.

High School Basketball Journey
Marcus Derrickson played high school basketball for three years. He attended Paul VI Catholic High School in Virginia. There, he helped his team, the Panthers, win two championships. As a junior, he scored about 11.8 points per game. He was also named to the All-Met Team, which honors top players in the Washington D.C. area.
For his last year of high school, Marcus moved to Brewster Academy in New Hampshire. He was a highly-ranked player in his class. In October 2013, he decided to play college basketball for Georgetown.
College Career at Georgetown
At Georgetown, Marcus Derrickson showed his skills on the court. As a freshman, he averaged 7.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. During his sophomore year, he improved to 8.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
In his junior year, he was recognized as one of the best players in his conference. He was named to the Second Team All-Big East. On January 20, 2018, Marcus had his best game, scoring 27 points. This helped Georgetown win a double-overtime game against St. John's.
Marcus finished his junior season averaging 15.9 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. He was also a great three-point shooter, making 46.5 percent of his shots. After this successful season, Marcus decided to enter the NBA draft. This meant he would not play his senior year at Georgetown.
Professional Basketball Career
Starting with the Golden State Warriors (2018–2019)
Marcus Derrickson was not chosen in the 2018 NBA draft. However, he still got a chance to play for the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Summer League. On September 20, 2018, he signed a training camp contract with the Warriors.
Later, his contract was changed to a "two-way contract." This meant he could play for both the Warriors and their minor league team, the Santa Cruz Warriors. In his first game for Santa Cruz, he scored 20 points. Marcus made his NBA debut on November 10, 2018. He scored 2 points and grabbed 1 rebound in a win against the Brooklyn Nets. The Golden State Warriors reached the 2019 NBA Finals that year. They lost to the Toronto Raptors in six games.
Playing for the College Park Skyhawks (2019–2020)
On August 23, 2019, Marcus signed a contract with the Atlanta Hawks. He was later released by the Hawks. After that, he joined the College Park Skyhawks. This team is the Hawks' minor league affiliate.
Marcus played well for the Skyhawks. He averaged 13.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. However, he was released by the team on March 4, 2020.
Time in Korea with Busan KT Sonicboom (2020)
On June 26, 2020, Marcus Derrickson signed with the Busan KT Sonicboom. This team plays in the Korean Basketball League (KBL). He played for them until November 24, when another player took his spot.
Joining the Maine Celtics (2022)
On March 8, 2022, Marcus was picked up by the Maine Celtics. This team is part of the NBA G League.
First Stint with Seoul Samsung Thunders (2022)
On August 11, 2022, Marcus signed with the Seoul Samsung Thunders. This is another team in the Korean Basketball League (KBL). He played for them until January 2023. He was temporarily replaced by another player in December 2022 due to an injury.
Second Stint with Seoul Samsung Thunders (2024–Present)
