Mareno Philyaw (born December 19, 1977) is a former American football player. He was a wide receiver, which means he caught passes from the quarterback. Mareno played for the Atlanta Falcons in the National Football League (NFL). He was chosen by the Falcons in the 2000 NFL draft.

Mareno Philyaw was born on December 19, 1977. He grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States. He went to North Clayton High School in College Park, Georgia. After high school, he played college football at Troy University. College football is where talented players compete for their universities.
Playing in the NFL
After playing in college, Mareno Philyaw was drafted into the National Football League (NFL). The NFL is the biggest professional American football league. He was picked by the Atlanta Falcons in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL draft. This meant the Falcons chose him to join their team. He played two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, from 2000 to 2001. As a wide receiver, his job was to run routes and catch the football.
Other Football Teams
Mareno Philyaw played for several other football teams too. After his time with the Falcons, he was part of the Carolina Panthers in 2002. He also played in different football leagues.
