Marilla Township is a small community located in Manistee County, in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is a type of local government area known as a civil township. In 2020, about 398 people lived there.

The Story of Marilla Township
The first person to settle in this area was C. Churchill. He came from New York state in June 1866. The township was officially set up in 1869. Before that, it was part of Brown Township. Marilla Township was named after the sister of one of the first leaders of the township.

- Marilla is a small, unincorporated community right in the middle of the township. This means it's a recognized place but doesn't have its own separate local government. A post office was open here from 1871 to 1935. It was also a stop on the Manistee and North-Eastern Railroad.
- Yates or Yates Corner was another rural post office. It started in the northwest part of the township in June 1884. In 1902, the office moved and was renamed Lemon Lake. It closed in February 1904. Like Marilla, Lemon Lake was also a stop on the Manistee and North-Eastern Railroad.

Marilla Township covers a total area of about 35.6 square miles (92.2 square kilometers). Most of this area is land. Only a small part, about 0.2 square miles (0.5 square kilometers), is water. The Manistee River flows through the southeast corner of the township. It generally moves west towards Lake Michigan.
